Lucknow: After more than seven weeks of peace, 22 fresh recorded in Kanpur COVID-19 Cases in a single day, putting the state machinery on high alert.
The data indicated that before Wednesday, Kanpur had recorded more than 20 cases on June 8.
Chief Minister worried about the situation Yogi Adityanath Health officials have been directed to look into the reasons for the increase.
Meanwhile, 89 new cases were reported from across the state in 34 districts in the last 24 hours. The bulletin indicated that except Kanpur, all other districts made single digit entries. Hapur saw seven cases while Prayagraj reported six cases.
The state now has 768 active cases, of which over 560 are in home isolation.
One person died of the virus, taking the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 22,755.
Officials also said that the containment protocol was necessary because even though there has been a decline in cases, the risk of infection remains high.
“The rainy season makes it easier for the pandemic virus to spread and hence prevention becomes extremely important,” a senior official said.
