The 6 Best Fan Theories to Watch Ahead of the Loki Finale

This article contains spoilers for Loki.

Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe The gamble of releasing a series based on its popular characters is really paying off. During the past five weeks, Loki fans have been paying close attention to the show, mapping out the small details and coming up with theories in anticipation of the finale. Loki is now considered one of the coolest ventures ever done by the MCU.

In the fifth episode, we see Loki meeting all the other versions of him at zero, where he wakes up after being laid off. We saw the adorable, albeit scary crocodile Loki. We saw Kid Loki, whose Nexus event was killing Thor. We also saw the classic Loki, which played a much bigger role than we expected. Then, there was President Loki, who fans thought would have a bigger role on the show, but ended up being a brief breath of fresh air. Then there is Alioth, a beast that prevents people from leaving the void.

We then saw Loki reunited with Mobius and Sylvie, who were all cut off and ended up in a void. Sylvie then tells Loki that she can charm Alioth, and finds out who is really responsible for creating the TVA. In the last scene we see Loki, Sylvie and the classic Loki put together their powers to defeat Alioth. The show left us with a fleeting image of a palace far away, giving us a clue as to who is behind these events.

Now, by picking up Easter eggs from the entire series, eagle-eyed fans have come up with fan theories to predict the end of the show. Some of it alludes to bigger villains, some of them points to existing characters, but most of it is certainly mind-blowing. Let’s take a look:

King Loki Variants

One of the most popular fan-theories that has surfaced online is that the force behind TVA is a Rogue or King version of Loki himself. This came to light when Marvel released a mid-season teaser that showed an image of Loki sitting on a throne. Now that we know that Loki and Sylvie are headed to a castle, and that image is still unaccounted for, people are sure that the big villain of the show is Loki himself.

Another variation of this theory is that the classic Loki, who sacrificed his life to help Sylvie and Loki, may have been King Loki. We saw that he had already pretended his death to Thanos, and might have done it to fool both of them. While this negates the heartwarming effect of his character in Episode 5, it will still be a fun twist.

Conqueror Con

Another big fan theory is that Loki’s ending will tie directly to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania. The film’s villain will be Kang the Conqueror, one of the biggest villains in Marvel Comics. Prior to Episode 4, fans had said that Kang was one of the Conqueror Time-Keepers. Now that we know they’re fake, we know they’re not. However, that still doesn’t change that Kang has a great deal of room to face. According to eagle-eyed fans, TVA takes place inside the Quantum Realm. According to the viral video, the Quantum Realm city seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp is actually visible in the TVA. All this shows the connection with Kang.

However, if we look at WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, no major characters have been introduced in the previous episodes. All the fan theories about Mephisto went to waste in the finale. If we look at it from that point of view, there is very little chance of a new villain coming in the last episode.

infinity stones

This is one of the more puzzling fan theories. According to fans all six episodes depict an infinity stone. Each episode had a different palette, matching the color of the infinity stone. In short, people are saying that the final episode shows the Space Stone that was inside Loki’s scepter. The Space Stone allows a person to travel to different places in or outside the universe. If true, this could be the start of a multiverse storyline that will link Loki to Doctor Strange 2 and Ant Man 3.

Renslayer with all

Just as Agatha has always been the villain in WandaVision, Ravonna Renslayer may have been the villain behind TVA. Her unwavering devotion to TVA, despite knowing the truth behind it, shows that she is more than what she gives. On the other hand, in the comics, Ravona Rensselaer was the daughter of King Kerelius, the 40th-century ruler of the Earth. He is also the lover of the victor kang. For Renslayer to be just a TVA judge is a coincidence.

Castle Doom

The castle that was left with us in Episode 5 makes people think the villain in Loki is Castle Doom, the home of the big Marvel villain Doctor Doom. While Doctor Doom fights the Fantastic Four, his presence could set up the Fantastic Four film, which has been announced and will be directed by Jon Watts in the MCU. However, Doctor Doom is unlikely to feature like Kang, as Loki will be distracted.

Sylvie manipulates Lokic

A lot of fans are saying that in the right Loki fashion, Sylvie will betray the God of Mischief in the last episode. While it will be heartbreaking to watch, it will be fun to see how Loki evolves but keeps parts of himself intact. Our Loki in the MCU has had a lot of redemption, and Sylvie hasn’t. Similarly a few episodes ago, Sylvie was a serial killer.

Directed by Kate Heron and produced by Michael Waldron, Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Sofia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha Raw and Wunmi Mosaku in the lead roles. Loki is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar Premium and Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
