Thane: A tempo driver and his assistant were killed, while a bike rider was seriously injured in two separate accidents in Thane in the early hours of Sunday.
Rescue officials said that a speeding tempo coming between Nashik and Thane collided with a container trailer running nearby. Kharegaon toll changed and KalwaHis driver and his assistant died on the spot around 5 am on Sunday.
“The impact was so bad that the driver’s cabin was badly damaged and both were trapped inside and by the time they could be rescued, they were dead,” a rescue officer said. .
In the second incident, around 2 am on Sunday, a food delivery boy was identified Shivraj Rathod (34) was riding a bike and was on his way home, when an unknown vehicle hit him near him. Patlipada bridge which comes under the jurisdiction of Kasarvadavali police.
“The vehicle accelerated while the injured Rathod was taken to a private hospital with serious injuries to his hand,” officials said.
Thane Police has registered cases in the incidents and is investigating further.
