KALYAN: Cybercriminals hacked the server of Dombivli Nagrik Sahakari (DNS) Bank and allegedly misappropriated over Rs 1.5 crore in various accounts. The police started the investigation after the Manpada police registered an FIR after the bank officials filed a complaint.
On March 12, the bank’s IT department head Niranjan Railkar lodged a police complaint after the branch’s internal verification revealed fraud.
Police sources said that someone hacked some bank accounts and transferred money to different accounts between 11.45 am and 1.30 pm on March 13. Police said that after the incident came to light, the bank had temporarily stopped online banking transactions through its servers.
On the complaint of Railkar, Thane Cyber ​​Police and Manpada Police have jointly started investigating the matter.
With 68 branches spread over 15 districts of Maharashtra, DNS Bank is headquartered in Dombivli.
