Thalapathy Vijay arrived at the residence of late actor Manobala in Chennai to pay his last respects.

Renowned Tamil actor and director Manobala passed away on Wednesday. The 69-year-old star was hospitalized for the past two weeks and passed away this morning. While more details about his death are still awaited, Rajinikanth was among the first superstars to react to the shocking news of Manobala’s death. Manobala acted in more than 450 films in a career spanning 35 years. He began his career in Tamil cinema in the early 1970s and became an assistant director for Bharathiraja’s 1979 film Puthiya Varpugal, in reference to Kamal Haasan. Manobala made his directorial debut in 1982 with Aagaya Gangai, starring Karthik and Suhasini, and went on to direct over 24 films.

Shortly before, Thalapathy Vijay reached the late actor’s house to pay his last respects. In 2022, Manobala shared her experience of meeting actor Vijay on the sets of Warisu. Taking to his Twitter, the actor-director had written, “Met Thalapathy Vijay n Varisu sets… It was amazing… He is still the same… Lots of energy while dancing… 15 minutes of The talk… also gave me freshness and energy…” (sic). Accompanied by police personnel, actor Vijay reached Manobala’s residence in Chennai and expressed condolences to his family after his untimely demise. The actor featured in Manobala’s last big screen outing, Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
