Terrorist killed in encounter with security forces in J-K’s Rajouri; search operation underway

Rajouri encounter: A terrorist was killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Friday morning. After receiving information about the hiding of terrorists in Dasal area, the security forces started a cordon and search operation.

At present the firing has stopped but the search operation is on. Police have cordoned off the area and restricted movement of general public and movement of vehicles beyond Dasal.

Earlier on Thursday, BSF jawans had killed a Pakistani intruder on the border in Samba sector. Security forces also arrested two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

During the search of both, two Chinese pistols, two magazines and 15 rounds of pistol were recovered. He was immediately taken into custody, the spokesman said. The arrested accused were identified as LeT terrorist associates, Suhail Gulzar of Frestihar Kreeri and Waseem Ahmad Pata of Hudipora Rafiabad.
