The Meteorological Department said that the weather remained dry in most parts of both the states on Thursday after rain in the last two days.

However, Karnal in Haryana received heavy rains during the day.

According to the Meteorological Department, Karnal received 49 mm of rain here.

Notably, Karnal has received over 300 mm of rain during the last two days. On Thursday, the maximum temperature of Karnal was recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal.

Ambala recorded a maximum temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal, while Hisar recorded 34 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.

With light rain, Rohtak recorded a maximum temperature of 32.3 degrees Celsius, down three notches.

Chandigarh, the shared capital of both the states, recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal limit.

Amritsar in Punjab recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degree Celsius.

Ludhiana recorded a maximum temperature of 33.7 degrees Celsius, while Patiala recorded a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, three below normal.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain or thundershower at many places in Haryana and Punjab in the next two days.
