Telugu Director K Vasu Passes Away; Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan Tweet Condolences

Pawan Kalyan said that K Vasu’s film Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Mahathyam has played an important role in throwing light on the life of Saint Shri Sai Baba.

Veteran director K Vasu passed away on May 26 at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad after suffering from kidney related ailments. He was undergoing treatment in the hospital for a few days. Several personalities from the Telugu film industry have condoled the demise of the filmmaker. Megastar Chiranjeevi tweeted that veteran filmmaker K Vasu is no more. In his tweet, he wrote that late film director Pranaam is the man behind films like Kharidu, Thodu Dongalu, Allulostunnaru and Kothala Rayudu. Chiranjeevi said that he acted in these films early in his career, expressing condolences to the family.

Actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan tweeted, “May Shri K Vasu’s soul rest in peace.” Pawan Kalyan, also known as Power Star, shared a press release after the demise of K Vasu. He wrote that we will not forget K Vasu, the director of Pranam Kharidu, in which Chiranjeevi played the lead role.

Pawan Kalyan further said that K Vasu’s film Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Mahathyam played an important role in throwing light on the life of Saint Sri Sai Baba. According to the actor, the filmmaker can direct such films which, while being entertaining, can connect emotionally with the audience.

The mortal remains of K Vasu have been brought to his residence in Film Nagar from KIMS Hospital at 6 am today, 27th May. The last rites will be performed at Mahaprasthanam in Hyderabad tomorrow afternoon.

K Vasu’s last directorial venture was the 2004 romance drama Intro Srimati Veedhilo Kumari. The film was released in theaters on 13 August 2004. The film revolves around a girl who runs away from home in search of shelter. Soon, she meets a musician and they agree to live together, pretending to be husband and wife. The turn of events that take place after the two people meet, forms the basis of K Vasu’s directorial debut.

Intlo Shrimati Veedhilo Kumari received mixed reviews from the audience. Mohammed Ali, Tanikella Bharani and Brahmanandam played important roles in the film.
