About 40 crocodiles mauled a Cambodian man to death on Friday after he fell into his corner of his family’s creeping farm, police said.

The 72-year-old was attempting to move a crocodile out of an enclosure where she had laid eggs when he found the stick he was using as a spur and pulled her inside.

Then the group of reptiles, set around him, tore his body to pieces and left the large corner in the field covered in blood.

“While he was chasing the crocodile from the egg-laying cage, the crocodile attacked the stick, causing it to fall into the enclosure,” May Savary, Siem Reap commune’s police chief, told AFP.

“Then other crocodiles attacked him until he died,” he said, adding that the man had bite marks on the rest of his body.

He claimed that the crocodiles ate the man after biting off one of his hands.

After the attack, pictures showed the massive animal still floating in the pool after the bodies were found.

It is being told that the victim was a resident of Po Banteay Che village of Siem Reap commune outside the city.

Siem Reap, the second largest city in Cambodia, is home to the Angkor Wat Buddhist temple complex.

Angkor Wat is considered the largest religious structure in the world.

Additionally, Nam was appointed the president of the nation’s Crocodile Association.

It is said that he died on 26 May 2023 at around 5 am.
