The police, which started investigating the matter, registered a case and arrested the student’s friend and two others who circulated the question paper on the app.

The release said that a thorough investigation was carried out by the education department through the district authorities and the police.

It was concluded that the incident was a case of misconduct and accordingly cases were registered under relevant laws. The release further said that two government employees – a chief superintendent and a departmental officer – have been suspended. The concerned inspector has been removed from service. The student who shared the paper with a friend was banned from appearing in SSC exams for a period of five years.

Police said that it is not a question paper leak case.

Telangana taking the incident seriously Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy held a video conference with the Collectors, Commissioners of Police and Superintendents of Police of all the districts and directed them to be more alert and vigilant to ensure smooth conduct of SSC examinations.

The minister also directed that strict action should be initiated against those found at fault or indulging in malpractices in the conduct of SSC exams.

Sabitha Reddy assured the parents and students that the sanctity of the examinations has not been compromised in any way and the examinations will continue to be conducted as per the schedule.
