In a major setback to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA K Chandrasekhar Rao in the poaching case, the Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed the state government’s plea seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe by a single bench. was challenged. Case.

The High Court upheld the order of the Single Bench and handed over the case to the CBI. With this, the curtain was lifted on whether the case would be handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) or the CBI.

Meanwhile, it is learned that the state government is considering challenging the Supreme Court’s decision.

According to sources, the Advocate General has requested the High Court to give more time to approach the Supreme Court. The AG also requested the High Court to keep the order in abeyance till the state government approaches the Supreme Court. But the division bench of the High Court refused to stay the order.

Initially the SIT investigated the case but later the Single Bench of the High Court handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI. Rejecting the CBI probe in the case, the state government filed an appeal in the division bench.

During the proceedings, the CBI told the bench that they had written to the Chief Secretary seeking details of the case and the SIT had not handed over any documents to them. The court has given a total of 45 reasons for handing over the case from SIT to CBI.

Advocate Damodar Reddy presented arguments on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the matter. He argued that the BJP neither toppled a single state government nor bought a single MLA.
