VILLUPURAM : A special court handling cases booked under SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) act denied bail for a police inspector in connection with case accusing him and four others of raping four Irula women in a village near Tirukoilur, Kallakurichi in 2011.
SC/ST court sessions judge A Packia Jothi rejected the bail of inspector Srinivasan when the application came for hearing on Wednesday. Srinivasan, who was arrested on November 15 after his bail application was rejected, complained of chest pain on the same day and is undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The court granted bail to four accused policemen but denied bail twice to the inspector.
