Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Nattu Kaka Aka Ghanshyam Nayak Passes Away

MumbaiVeteran actor Ghanshyam Nayak, best known for playing the role of Nattu Kaka in Sony SAB’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is no more. The talented artist passed away on Sunday (October 3) in Mumbai. He was 77 years old.

Ghanshyam breathed his last at Suchak Hospital in Mumbai at around 5.30 pm on Sunday. Last year, the senior actor underwent surgery after eight lumps were found in his neck. He started taking chemotherapy sessions after being diagnosed with cancer.

Producer of Taarak Mehta on Ghanshyam Nayak’s death

Asit Modi while talking to ABP News correspondent Ravi Jain confirmed the death of Nayak. He said that the cast and crew of ‘TMKOC’ will miss him.

Recalling his two-decade-long association with Ghanshyam Nayak, he said, “He was associated with me since 2001. He was like a family member and I shared a close bond with him. He did ‘TMKOC’. Showered the entire team with his blessings. We used to work happily together. He was a lovely and kind person. We will miss him dearly.”

Asit Modi also revealed that Nayak did not shoot for the show in the last few months due to ill health. “He last worked with us on the sets 3-4 months back. He could not shoot due to his deteriorating health,” he added.

Ghanshyam Nayak acted in more than 100 Hindi and Gujarati films in his illustrious career. He has dubbed for over 350 Gujarati films and acted in over 100 Gujarati plays.
