Twitter is one of those social networks where sports-related conversations take place, and in India, cricket fans roar big over the service. According to Twitter, between 1 July 2020-1 July 2021, there were more than 75 lakh conversations about cricket on the platform in the country. To enhance the fan experience like this one, Twitter has launched a live scorecard and is testing what it says is the nation’s first Twitter Community – Cricket Twitter – India.
How cricket twitter will work
During the match, the scorecard will appear on the Explore tab and on the Live Events page. Fans will be able to follow the score of the match in real time while scrolling through the tweets. This means that fans will be able to engage in real-time match conversations while on Twitter. The scorecard will be available to everyone in India on iOS as well as the web and will be available to most people on Android.
Twitter says it’s also testing it first Community Cricket Twitter dedicated to Indian cricket fans outside the US – India is called in many Indian languages to talk about all things cricket. communities in the U.S. in September this year. How do communities work?
Communities are started and managed by the people on Twitter – moderators who enforce community rules and keep conversations informative, relevant and fun. While community Tweets are publicly available, only members of that community can reply and join the conversation so that it remains intimate and relevant. Like Public Tweets, anyone can read, quote Tweets, and report Community Tweets. Communities can currently be accessed via invite only on iOS, web and Android mobile browsers, with access to the Android app and more functionalities coming soon. Anyone globally can be invited to join the community via direct messages.
