T20 World Cup 2024: Rishabh Pant Gets Ultimatum From Jay Shah

With the T20 World Cup 2024 in June, Team India wicketkeeper-batter and Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant has been given an ultimatum for playing the quadrennial event this year by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. Pant has been cleared to play in the upcoming IPL 2024 season by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and will likely feature right from the beginning of the tournament for the Delhi Capitals.

For him to play the world cup this year, Rishabh pant would have to prove that he is fully fit and will be able to keep wickets for the Men In Blue as well.

Speaking to PTI, Jay Shah said “He is batting well, he is keeping well. We will declare him fit very soon. If he can play the T20 World Cup for us, that will be a big thing for us. He is a big asset for us. If he can keep, he can play the World Cup. Let’s see how he does in the IPL.”

Pant’s horrific car accident sustaining significant damage to his right knee, necessitating ligament reconstruction surgery. Additionally, he suffered fractures in his wrist and ankle as well.
