Hubballi: South Western Railway has undertaken track renovation and engineering works to improve sectional speed, loop line speed and eliminate permanent speed restrictions at stations. The work is expected to pave the way for longer, restriction-free stretches that will help increase the speed capacity of trains.

In the first nine months of this financial year, the speed has been increased from 15 kmph to 30 kmph on a total of 153 km of loop lines at various stations. Speed ​​has been increased on loop lines at all stations between yeshwantpur And Hubli in the last three years. Similarly, the speed on the loop line has been increased at all stations like Yesvantpur-Omaluru, Mysore-Arsikere, Vandal-Hotgi etc.
“As of December 2021, 18 permanent speed restrictions have been removed,” the release said.
SWR General Manager Sanjeev Kishore Appreciated the work done under the guidance of Principal Chief Engineer SPS Gupta and Divisional Railway Managers of Hubballi, Bangalore and Mysore divisions.
