Man caught with ₹1.4 cr cash, 800 grams of gold at M’luru Stn. Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru: Railway Protection Force officials on Sunday detained a man traveling in the Mumbai-LTT-Ernakulam Duronto Express with Rs 1.48 crore in cash and 800 grams of gold ornaments without any documents at Mangaluru Junction railway station.
is man Mahendra Singh, 33, native of Udaipur. The RPF, which was checking the Duronto Express, which reached around 10.30 am, checked the man’s luggage and found bundles of notes wrapped in old newspapers, an official said. He was immediately taken into custody. Preliminary investigation revealed that the salesman Singh was on his way from Mumbai to Kozhikode. He could not produce any document. It is learned that a person in Mumbai handed over three packets of notes and jewelery to Singh’s employer, who runs a jewelery store in Kozhikode and also hails from Rajasthan.
The officer said that the accused has been handed over to the Railway Police, who have registered the case and the court will decide on the agency that will investigate it.
