Ludhiana: On Monday night near Gill bridge on Sidhwan canal, two accused looted Rs 1.50 lakh from two people at gunpoint.

While they were having dinner at around 8 pm, Madan Sachdeva got a call from a businessman who was supposed to pay Rs 1.50 lakh.
“My uncle asked me and Shivam’s brother-in-law Babat Sharma to hand over the payment to the merchant near Gill Bridge. On reaching there, we were waiting for the merchant when an SUV came near us. The occupants pointed pistols at us, snatched the cash and fled. There was a man and a woman in the SUV.”
Marado police station about Subhash Chand said, “Sachdeva deals with a businessman from Janta Nagar and they exchange payments every evening. Since the Sachdeva family was busy in the presence of the guests, they asked Ankush and Babat to pay the merchant. Ankush and Babat went to the main road and were waiting for the trader when the accused reached there.
“The area is quite different and not cctv There are cameras there. The victims had noted down the registration number of the SUV. We are trying to trace the accused,” the ASI said.
A case of snatching has been registered under section 379-B(2) Indian Penal Code.
