Sunny Leone has left her fans excited ever since the news of her starring in an Indo-Bangladesh film surfaced. Fans can’t wait to see him in a Bengali film for the first time. However, it seems that several obstacles are beginning to emerge. According to the latest ETimes report, Sunny cannot start shooting for the film titled ‘Soldiers’ at the moment. This is because Bangladesh’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has canceled his work permit for the film. Although the exact reason behind this decision is still unknown, but rumors are around which suggest that some Islamic groups have threatened to stage protests if Sunny enters Bangladesh. After this the Bangladesh government did not want to take any chances.
Notably, earlier this month, the ministry allowed 11 Indian actors to shoot in Bangladesh for Soldiers, which is being helmed by Shamim Ahmed Roni. Sunny was also included in this list and now all other actors except her have been given work permits. The shooting was to begin on March 5 and the schedule was scheduled to be completed by September 4.
As far as the cancellation of Sunny’s work permit is concerned, this is not the first time that she has been denied entry into Bangladesh. In 2015 too, Sunny was unable to attend a cultural event in the country as several Islamic groups protested against her. The result was that the actor had to cancel his trip.
Sunny had earlier appeared in a Bangladeshi music video ‘Dustu Polapan’, which created a flutter on the internet. However, even during that time things were not easy for the actor. He was criticized by some Bangladeshi groups.
Meanwhile, Sunny is earning praises for her work in Vikram Bhatt’s Anamika, which is currently streaming on MX Player. In the film, Sunny is portrayed as an action actress who suffers from amnesia.
