The mass holiday of May 31, proposed by the station masters in the railways, has been postponed for the time being. Due to this the officials of the department are breathing a sigh of relief. Let us inform that the station masters had announced to be on mass leave on May 31 for various demands including night allowance and restoration on vacant posts. Due to this there was a stir in the department as it was believed to have a bad effect on train operations. But in the latest information, according to the release issued by the association, “Due to intervention by the Central Deputy Labor Commissioner, New Delhi, the program of mass leave (strike) proposed by the All India Station Master Association for 31 May 2022 has been postponed. .

After the Central Deputy Labor Commissioner Delhi intervened in our matter, an online CEC meeting of the Central Officers, Zonal Officers was held and reconciliation was discussed. Deputy Chief Labor Commissioner (C), Delhi, has intervened regarding our strike notice. On our demands, the railway management submitted a reply. During tripartite discussion (ESMA representative, Railway Administration & Central Labor Commissioner Delhi) Deputy CLC heard both the sides and after hearing our full demands, Deputy CLC asked the Association to give details of our demands in writing on 26/5/22. asked for, and assured detailed discussion on 30.05.2022.

Meanwhile, the Deputy CLC assured to settle the issue and requested the Association to postpone the proposed strike on 31.05.2022 keeping in view the public interest. The next tripartite negotiating meeting will be held on 30.05.2022 in the Chamber of the Deputy CLC. MOSR also intervened and a meeting has been organized in Delhi. Keeping in view the positive attitude of Deputy CLC (C) and public interest, the Action Committee, ESMA has decided to stop the strike scheduled on 31st May 2022. If the Tripartite Dialogue on May 30 does not yield the desired results, we will proceed with a strike on a short notice from our Action Committee.

AISMA’s decision to go on strike on 31.05.2022 has been postponed. About 70 to 80% mass leave applications have been collected all over India and are available with the Divisional Secretary in their respective circles, we will be ready for further action if the talks fail.
