A SpiceJet spokesperson said on Tuesday that a SpiceJet Boeing 737 flight from Dubai to Cochin was found to have a burst tire during a post-flight walk.

“On 4th July, SpiceJet Boeing 737 operated flight SG-17, Dubai (DXB) – Cochin (COK). NO 2 tire was found to be burst during post flight tread. During take off and after take off and after landing All system parameters were normal during the smooth operation, SpiceJet said in a statement.

According to SpiceJet, all passengers are safe and the landing operation was normal.

The flight narrowly escaped a major accident as it becomes very difficult to make a smooth landing in such conditions. With a deflated tyre, there is a high probability of an accident as the aircraft with a deflated tire may lose balance if it touches the runway.
