New Delhi: Delhi Police special cell two have been arrested gunrunner From Southeast Delhi and confiscated 20 Sophisticated Semi-automatic Pistols from them. The accused Sajid Ahmed (32) and Rajendra Kumar (42) are both residents of Uttar Pradesh.
DCP (Special Cell) Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that on March 12, they arrested Ahmed by laying a trap near gate number one in Indraprastha Park of MG Marg. Kumar was later apprehended from near ISBT Sarai Kale Khan.
Investigators said the Special Cell had initiated action against interstate suppliers of illegal firearms in Delhi-NCR. “During the first surveillance, it was found that illegal arms are smuggled into Delhi mainly from Khargaon, Dhar, Sendwa, Barwani and Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh. Both the arrested accused were members of a similar syndicate.
Recently, the Special Cell had arrested three gunmen from Punjab and recovered nine semi-automatic pistols, magazines and a dozen cartridges from them.
