New Delhi: Former Indian cricketers VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag led the way the wishes were cast Sourav Ganguly Thursday on his 49th birthday.
Laxman wished Ganguly the “greatest happiness of life” on his birthday and shared a picture from his playing days with the former India captain.
Laxman tweeted, “Wishing you a very happy day @SGanguly99. May you be gifted with the greatest joys of life and never ending bliss. Wishing you all the very best for the coming year. Happy Birthday.”

Former India opener Virender Sehwag wished Ganguly “good health” on his birthday.
Sehwag said, “Dada ka junoon, dada ka intent ke liye few can match. May you always be in good health and spirits. Happy birthday to grandfather.”

BCCI The Board also came forward to congratulate the President.

The former Indian captain played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs for India. He scored 18,575 runs in all formats in his international career. Ganguly led India in 195 matches across all formats and won 97 of them.
The Kolkata prince gave time to his career after playing his last Test against Australia in Nagpur in 2008. The left-handed batsman continued to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but retired from domestic Cricket in 2012.
