Sonakshi Sinha-Vijay Varma starrer ‘Dahaad’ becomes first Indian webseries to premiere at Berlin International Film Festival

New Delhi: The web series ‘Dahad’ starring Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah has been selected for the Berlinale Series Competition. The show is set in a small sleepy town in Rajasthan. It is an 8 part, slow paced crime drama that follows Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhati and her colleagues at the local police station to solve a curious case.

When a series of women are mysteriously found dead in a public bathroom, sub-inspector Anjali Bhati is assigned to investigate. At first, the deaths clearly appear to be suicides, but as cases unfold, Anjali begins to suspect that a serial killer is roaming freely. What follows is an interesting game of cat and mouse between a seasoned criminal and a downtrodden cop as she pieces together the evidence before yet another innocent woman’s life is lost. “The roar of Dahadh reverberates through #Berlinale as it becomes the first Indian webseries to premiere at the festival,” Tiger Baby Films posted on its Instagram handle.

Before ‘Dahad’, Reema Kagti delivered several critically acclaimed and loved stories with web series like ‘Talaash’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Gully Boy’ (also presented at The Berlinale) and ‘Made in Heaven’ Huh. among many others. Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Farhan Akhtar, ‘Dahad’ is slated to release in 2023.
