Saxena was asked about Kejriwal’s remarks targeting PM Narendra Modi over his educational qualifications and questioning the genuineness of his degrees.

Hitting out at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Sunday said one should not be proud of one’s degree and some people remain illiterate despite being educated in IITs.

Saxena was asked about Kejriwal’s remarks targeting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Questioning their educational qualifications and the genuineness of their degrees.

“I have heard the comments made by the Honorable Chief Minister in the Assembly. No one should be proud of his degree. Degree is only attainment of education but real education lies in your knowledge and practice.

“I have seen the kind behavior displayed in the last few days. It has been proved how some people remain illiterate despite being educated in IITs,” the LG said.

The Delhi chief minister, who studied at IIT, and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have launched a fresh attack on the issue as the Gujarat High Court recently set aside a seven-year-old Central Information Commission (CIC) order. Had given. Gujarat University was asked to inform Kejriwal about Modi’s degree. The high court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the AAP chief, who was the RTI applicant in the matter.

AAP leader and Delhi reacting to Saxena’s remarks Education Minister Atishi accused him of questioning prestigious institutions like IITs and said that the LG and BJP leaders should also show their degrees.

He also announced the launch of the party’s ‘Degree Dikhao’ campaign.

“IITs are considered to be the most prestigious institutes in India and around the world… People studying from there are leading many companies across the globe. It is really sad that today even IIT degree is being questioned. LG should also come forward and share his degree with the public. In fact, he should ask BJP leaders also to show their degrees,” he said at a press conference.

AAP’s national spokesperson and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj also hit out at the Lt Governor’s statement that an educational degree is just a receipt. He said that the LG’s statement proves that he believes that the Prime Minister does not have a genuine degree.

“It was magnanimous of our Chief Minister that despite trying to take credit for the work done by the Delhi government, he did not say anything to you (LG) till now. But today LG said that there is no need for IIT degree, degree is just a receipt to spend money. I wonder how many LG Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Joint Secretaries are without degrees. Why keep degree holders when people without degree are roaming on the road? He asked. Earlier in the day, LG Saxena visited Purak Nallah in Wazirabad and reviewed the Yamuna cleaning work.

“We are cleaning the Yamuna banks in a mission mode. We will clean the 22 kilometer stretch by June 30.

Asked about the criticism of the AAP government, he said, “We are not working for credit but to give clean Yamuna to the people.”

However, Delhi minister Bhardwaj accused the LG of taking credit for the work done by the city government to clean the Yamuna.

Addressing a press conference, the minister also spoke about various initiatives taken by his government to clean Yamuna.

“His job is not to visit drains, but to visit various police stations under him. There are 350 police stations in Delhi. They should go to him. But he visits drains where work is going on and claims to take credit for the work being done by the government,” said the minister.

Bhardwaj said, “Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has never raised this issue, but it has been happening.”

Later Bhardwaj also highlighted the importance of an engineer like Kejriwal in a tweet.

In a tweet, the LG said, “Also visited Sur Ghat and appreciated the makeover done by DDA. Instructed to regularly monitor the water quality in the bathing area and keep it at optimum level.

Quoting the tweet, Bhardwaj said, “Please don’t feel bad sir @LtGovDelhi. The plants have even been set up with plastic bags, mocking this scientific process. The water will be pure only when their roots flow in the water. This is a waste of money. That’s why you need engineers like @ArvindKejriwal.”
