Some people are trying to incite forces to create unrest: LG Sinha – Kashmir Reader

It is said that without peace development is not possible

SRINAGAR: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that development is not possible in Jammu and Kashmir without establishing peace, some people are trying to instigate security forces and administration so that some mistake may happen and unrest spreads.
Development can happen only when there is peace. This has to be kept in mind. There is no place in the world where progress has been made without peace,” Sinha said while addressing a function at the launch of district export schemes at SKICC here.
Union Minister of State, Commerce and Industry, Anupriya Patel was also present.
Sinha said some people are constantly trying to create trouble in the Valley as they are not happy with the increasing tourism, setting up of industries, stabilizing economic scenario and changing lives of the people.
“Some people are trying to instigate us, the security forces, so that the security forces make some mistake and the people here (to protest) come on the streets. But, we will not allow such a situation to arise.
Society has to come forward. Security forces are working hard round the clock for the safety of the common people,” he said.
Sinha said the administration is working on a policy that innocent people will not be touched but the guilty will not be spared.
He said that the steps being taken by the government regarding development are for the future of the people and their children.
“So, come forward in creating a new Jammu and Kashmir, and there is a need to create awareness in the society that unless there is peace, we will not be able to achieve development. It is not only the responsibility of the government but also the citizens here.”
Sinha said that J&K has huge export potential, especially its handicrafts, paper mache, horticultural products, pashmina and carpets.
He said that the government is working on tripling exports in the next five years.
“We have been working on this with the Union commerce ministry for the last two years. Today we have prepared a detailed plan for every district and in the coming days we will try to export from every district of J&K. We are grateful to the PM for his guidance and support. We are working on a target to triple exports in the next five years,” said LG.
