Singhu Border Killing: Rakesh Tikait accuses the government of conspiracy

New Delhi: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday said the Singhu border incident is a “religious matter” and the central government should not link it with farmers’ protests.

He alleged that the government has a hand behind spoiling the atmosphere near the border.

Terming the Singhu border incident as a conspiracy of the government, Tikait said that the ruling government can worsen the situation on the border at any time.

“Nihangs said that this is a religious matter and the government should not link it with farmers’ protest. We are talking to them and telling them that they are not needed here right now. The government may worsen the situation,” he told ANI in an exclusive conversation.

Questioning the intelligence of the central government, the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh leader alleged that the ruling government was already aware of the incident as it was behind the hanging.

“Delhi Police keeps guard at the barricades where the incident took place. Intelligence lives there on the border, were they not aware of the incident? This shows that the incident was known to all and it was carried out by the government,” Tikait said.

Earlier on Saturday, the Haryana Police had detained two Nihangs in connection with the incident at Singhu border where a mutilated body was hanging at the protest site of farmers.
