Shalmali Kholgade marries boyfriend Farhan Sheikh
Bollywood playback singer Shalmali Kholgade on Tuesday announced that she has tied the knot with her boyfriend Farhan Sheikh. Kholgade said on Instagram that she married Sheikh, a sound engineer, on November 22 in an intimate ceremony held at her residence in Mumbai.
“22nd November 2021 is the most precious day of my life so far! The day I married my perfect match @farhanfshaikh. We got married exactly what we expected. Living at home with my parents More siblings in the room, some aunts and cousins!” The 31-year-old singer wrote alongside a picture with Shaikh and other relatives.
The singer further added that Sheikh and her marriage took place according to both Hindu and Muslim customs. “Farhan’s brother-in-law @abdullahusman was kind enough to recite a dua, translate nikah to English and then recite Al-Fatiha.
“My incredible father ran Lajja Homa and Saptapadi with an English translation. Our marriage was about as long as it could have been. I still can’t fathom how healthy it was!” Posted by Kholgade.
The couple received congratulatory messages from many from the music world including Clinton Cerejo, Shilpa Rao, Jonita Gandhi as well as actors Priya Bapat and Gauahar Khan.
Shalmali Kholgada is known for singing some of the most popular tracks in recent times, including “Pastured” from “Ishaqzaade”, “Aga Bai” from “Aiyya” and “Daaru Desi” from “Cocktail”.
