Laptop production was affected due to the shortage of electronic chips in the market, which is an essential component needed to make laptops.

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has said that this has been hampered by the lack of free laptop distribution to school students by the state government.

He said that the production of laptops has been affected due to the shortage of electronic chips in the market, which is an essential component required to make laptops.

Significantly, the DMK government led by MK Stalin has announced the distribution of free laptops to 11 lakh government school students of Tamil Nadu.

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, the minister said that the government is working on it and a solution will be found immediately. The government has been criticized by the media and the opposition for delaying the distribution of laptops to the students and the minister’s statement can be considered as a response to this.

Salaries of teachers and staff of government-aided schools were pending and the minister said this was due to some issues with the website of the revenue department in downloading salary details of government-aided school employees.

Minister Poyyamozhi said that the issue has been resolved and the salary disbursement will start smoothly.

He said that the government should be alert if any case of private schools charging exorbitant fees from the students comes to light and added that strict action will be taken against the errant school management.
