Shashi Tharoor on BJP’s victory in UP elections: PM Modi has ‘tremendous enthusiasm, dynamism’

After crediting the Prime Minister for the victory in four of the five states, Tharoor accused the PM of describing the forces dividing the country on communal and religious lines as “unfortunate”.

He said the Indian voter has given the BJP what it wanted the most, but predicted that the same voter would one day surprise the saffron party.

Commenting on the defeat of the Congress in the assembly elections, he said that the visibility of the party has systematically reduced in some states in the last 30 years.

The Congress leader, however, credited Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for doing remarkable and energetic campaigning for the party.
