Shashi Kapoor Jayanti: Family pays tribute with heartfelt post

March 18 is the birth anniversary of legendary actor Shashi Kapoor. This year is his 84th birth anniversary. On Friday, members of the Kapoor family shared posts on social media paying heartfelt tributes to him. Shashi Kapoor’s son Kunal Kapoor posted a throwback picture of his father on his Instagram account. In the photo, he is seen posing with a glass in his hand. “Happy Happy B’day,” he captioned the post.

Kunal’s son Zahaan Kapoor also shared an adorable throwback picture from his childhood days with his grandfather. He wrote the caption, “Happy Birthday Grandpa!” Have a look:

Meanwhile, Kunal also posted a rare video of the Kapoor family’s Holi celebrations. This was originally posted by Neetu Kapoor. The video has glimpses of men being thrown into a small pool of colored water, moreover, the guests have a blast dancing in their hearts. It also has some shots of Raj Kapoor. Apart from him, his wife Krishna Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor’s wife Neela Devi are also in the video. Neetu Kapoor was also seen with her son in her arms. Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor is also seen dancing with a group of people. Watch the video here:

Padma Bhushan awardee Shashi Kapoor passed away in December 2017 at the age of 79 due to liver problems. In a career spanning over four decades, the actor starred in over 150 films, including a dozen English ones. Kapoor began acting as a child artist in the late 1940s in commercial films including ‘Sangram’ (1950) and ‘Dana Pani’ (1953). He acted in four Hindi films as a child artist from 1948 to 1954. His first major role was in the 1961 award-winning ‘Dharmaputra’ directed by Yash Chopra, one of the first Indian features to deal with Partition. Shashi Kapoor has also done with Superstar Amitabh Bachchan in hits like ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile’ (1965), ‘Deewar’ (1975), ‘Kabhie Kabhie’ (1976), ‘Trishul’ (1978) and ‘Namak Halal’ (1982).
