Anupam Mittal, Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, has expressed his disappointment over the show ‘Shark Tank India 2’ ignoring the contribution of women to the society.

He was impressed by the business idea and concept of Chikankari on Velvet presented by Poonam Rawal and Aakriti Rawal.

It is said that the Mughal empress Nur Jahan was a skilled embroiderer and introduced chikankari to India. To promote the skill, the mother-daughter duo from Delhi introduced velvet chikankari with their business, House of Chikankari.

Talking about promoting chikankari work and doing embroidery differently, Aakriti said, “We started 2020 on an unknown path with big dreams. Exactly two years later, we are back with ‘Shark Tank India 2. ‘ were on the set.” Consumers always felt that authentic chikankari would be available only in Lucknow and offline stores, but never on the web.”

About inculcating an element of trust in customers for their products, he said: “It took a long time to build trust. Interacting with the sharks was an absolute pleasure and the experience gave us a new perspective and a new direction.” “

He has sought an investment of Rs 75 lakh in lieu of 1 per cent equity. It will be interesting to see if they get what they are looking for.
