Shah Rukh Khan Spills Beans on Pathaan Sequel, Says, ‘It will be my honour’

Mumbai: On the success of his recently released ‘Pathan’, actor Shah Rukh Khan talked about the sequel of the film and said, “Whenever he (Siddharth) wants me to, I will do it.” Hinting at ‘Pathan 2’ during the interaction, director Siddharth Anand said, “Pathan aayi hai, hit hui hai. What will happen after that?”, Fans shouted, “Pathan 2.” Siddhartha replied: “Insha Allah.”

The ‘Don’ actor, on the other hand, also talked about the sequel of the film. “It’s a big day for us, my family. We haven’t felt this happiness in a while. Whenever he (Siddharth Anand) wants me to do Pathan 2, I will. If they want to make a sequel It would be an honor for me to do so,” Shah Rukh Khan said.

Sharing his experience of working with Siddharth, he said, ‘Like every filmmaker, I once had a wish list of working with Shah Rukh Khan. I think you have to earn a Shah Rukh Khan film, I think that was my journey. Which I completed and that’s when I got the gift of directing Shah Rukh Khan.”

Siddharth Anand also talked about how the pre-release controversy of ‘Pathan’ affected the team of the film. He said, “To be honest, our last two months were a bit stressful because of the whole atmosphere and everyone supported us. People came in huge numbers on the first day to watch our film.”

`Pathan` is smashing records at the domestic and overseas box office as it has collected Rs 542 crore worldwide in just 5 days. Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathan’ released on January 25, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Apart from the “seeti maar” dialogues and high-octane action sequences, it is Salman Khan’s extended cameo as Tiger that made the film all the more special. It is the fourth installment in the YRF Spy Universe and marks the comeback film of Shah Rukh after Zero (2018). The film has created history as it has left behind SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’ and Yash-starrer ‘KGF 2’ to become the fastest film to enter the Rs 200 crore club. Production banner Yash Raj Films (YRF) on Sunday said it has collected Rs 429 crore worldwide in four days.
