India on Saturday criticized the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) for “biased” and “incorrect” comments on the country. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reacted a day after the USCIRF “repressed” critical voices, especially religious minorities and those reporting and advocating for them in India.

“We’ve seen biased and misogynistic comments India by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “These remarks reflect the grave lack of India and its constitutional framework, its plurality and its democratic ethos.”

“Sadly, USCIRF continues to repeatedly misrepresent facts in its statements and reports in pursuance of its motivated agenda. Such actions only serve to reinforce concerns about the organization’s credibility and objectivity.” Works,” Bagchi said while responding to media queries on USCIRF’s comments on India.
