Seema Haider Case: Lawyer AP Singh, who shot into limelight for defending Nirbhaya convicts in court, on Monday met Pakistani national Seema Ghulam Haida at her boyfriend Sachin Meena’s residence in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He appealed to the President to grant Indian citizenship to Seema.

After meeting Seema, he said, “I am hopeful that Seema will get Indian citizenship.” He said that Seema has full faith in the Indian investigative agencies and the UP Police.

Singh said, she is ready for any kind of investigation and is also cooperating.

He further said that people coming from outside countries have been getting citizenship in India and on the same basis the border should also get citizenship.

Who is Seema Haider?

According to the couple, Seema and Sachin Meena came in contact while playing PUBG in 2019 and a dramatic love story unfolded between the two countries who were not very friendly to each other, living more than 1,300 km apart. According to the Uttar Pradesh Police, Seema, 30, and Sachin, 22, live in Greater Noida’s Rabupura area near Delhi, where they run a provision store. The border became a topic of discussion after she reached India without valid documents via Nepal to be with Sachin.

Pakistan Embassy Contacted
In another development in the case, the Noida Police sent all the documents related to the border to the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi.

Earlier, ATS (Anti Terror Squad) along with Noida Police had interrogated Seema, her boyfriend Sachin and her father. Her documents have been sent to the Pakistan Embassy to confirm whether Seema is a Pakistani citizen or not. Further action will be taken after the report comes.
