Rishipal Singh Awana, RWA President, Sector 99, said that they are facing problems in getting electricity connections for the houses in the sector for the past few years. “Unavailability of electrical infrastructure is one of the main reasons for the low population in the region,” said Singh, writing to the Noida electricity department and marking a copy to the CEO of the Noida Authority.
According to Singh, the Noida Authority developed the area in 2008-09 and since 2011 allotted around 190 plots to home buyers on lease. He said that despite the authority handing over the delivery of all electrical infrastructure to Paschimchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL), there is a shortage of power lines, cables, feeder panels etc. on the ground. “Supply is provided through a panel box only. As a result, plot owners are facing challenges in obtaining Lightning connections for construction activity and are being provided with huge estimates PVVNL Because there is no electricity line or cable near their plot. Also, the authority is issuing notices to plot owners for cancellation of plots due to non-construction,” Singh said, adding that only 15 families live in the sector.
