“The tenure of the Zilla Parishads is ending in the second week of March. The elections should be held before the completion of the five-year term. SEC has decided to consult with political parties on free and fair elections,” wrote SEC Secretary RN Sahu to political parties.
In three-tier panchayat elections, ZP elections are contested on party basis, whereas elections to panchayats and panchayat samitis are not on party basis.
