Udupi: Before the day alien festival In Udupi, the organizing committee is concerned about rising COVID-19 case in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada.

Sri Krishnapura Math Seer Sri Vidyasagar Tirtha During the Paraya festival on January 18, the famous Shri Krishna will climb into the Paraya Peeth of the temple. A ‘Pura Pravesh’ ritual, the traditional Paraya seer after the completion of his pre-Parayaya tour, will be held at the temple, on January 10. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the Shri Krishna Math every day during the festival.
BJP MLA K Raghupati Bhat, who is also the honorary chairman of the committee, said he has requested the government not to extend the night curfew, which was imposed till Friday.
“The government has imposed night curfew only to control the free movement of people and not to contain the spread of the virus. When the night curfew is imposed, there will be fear in the minds of people that the pandemic is not over. I am sure the government cannot extend the night curfew if the number of cases rises,” Bhat said.
The MLA said that all arrangements have been made to celebrate Paraya Utsav. “Those who are participating in the festival must mandatorily have vaccination certificates for both the doses. We have also mentioned this in the invitation letter of the festival. The alien seer has also directed that the festival should be organized following all the guidelines of the government. I have met Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and invited him for the festival. The Chief Minister will visit Udupi on January 17 and participate in programs on January 18.
The MLA held a meeting on Tuesday and directed the police to make arrangements to ensure security during the festival. Superintendent of Police N Vishnuvardhan and Additional SP Kumar Chandra were present on the occasion.
