A case was registered against Raj Thackeray in the year 2008 under sections 109, 117, 143 of the Indian Penal Code and 135 of the Mumbai Police Act.

The difficulties of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray, who gave an ultimatum to the state government regarding loudspeakers, seem to be increasing. Shirala Court in Sangli district has issued a non-bailable warrant against MNS President Raj Thackeray. The warrant was issued last month. Its information became public on Tuesday. Although the Mumbai Police did not take any action in this matter, but after the rally in Aurangabad, the police became active.

A case was registered against Raj Thackeray in the year 2008 under sections 109, 117, 143 of the Indian Penal Code and 135 of the Mumbai Police Act. Sangli’s MNS worker Tanaji Sawant had agitated on the issue of Marathi language and board of shops in Marathi.

During this, forcible attempts were made to close some shops. Later a case was registered against Tanaji Sawant and party chief Raj Thackeray.

Despite summons several times, Raj did not appear even once.
This case is going on since 2008 and despite summons several times, Raj Thackeray has not appeared in the court. After which the court has issued this non-bailable warrant on the request of the police. The Sangli court has directly directed the Mumbai Police Commissioner to arrest Raj Thackeray and present him in the Sangli court. Now it has to be seen what is the stand of Mumbai Police and Raj Thackeray’s party in this matter.

A warrant has been issued against Raj in this case.
Raj Thackeray was arrested in 2008 on the orders of a welfare court following an agitation demanding priority to local Bhumiputras (Marathi people) in railway recruitment. After this, MNS workers in Shedgewadi village of Shirala taluka protested against the arrest and forced the shopkeepers to close their shops. During this a situation of tension had arisen.

After this, a case was registered against 10 people including Raj in Shirala police station. In this case, a charge sheet was filed against Raj Thackeray in the Shirala First Class Court. In this case of 2008, Raj did not appear in the court even once, after which this action has now been taken by the court.
