Saudi Aramco chairman to join Reliance Industries board – Times of India

Bengaluru: Reliance Industries Limited said on thursday Saudi Aramco Chairman Yasir Al-Rumayen will join the Indian group’s board.
Reliance had in 2019 announced the sale of 20% stake in its oil-to-chemical business to the world’s top oil exporting firm Aramco for $15 billion.
“We look forward to welcoming Saudi Aramco As a strategic partner,” RIL chief Mukesh Ambani said during the company’s 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“We look forward to formalizing the partnership with Saudi Aramco this year,” he added.
However, the deal was put on hold last year following a collapse in oil prices and demand due to the pandemic.
Separately, the RIL major said that Reliance has raised capital of Rs 3,24,432 crore through equity sale in Jio Platforms and retail, rights issue, asset monetization.
