Howrah RPF seized Rs 47.50 lakh in cash, handed over the case to be income tax. Rail Hunt

RPF has been a big success due to the watchful watch in the station premises. On the basis of suspicion, a youth has been taken into custody and cash worth more than 47 lakhs has been recovered from him. The cash was confiscated for not having valid documents relating to the amount and not giving satisfactory answers. RPF handed over the cash and the youth to Income Tax. Let us inform that the Howrah RPF has launched a campaign against hawala traders and other illegal activities.

According to sources, the team of ASI US Rana, Constable P Halder, Chhotu Yadav, led by North Post Commander MD Bhutia of Howrah RPF, was patrolling in the platform premises of Old Complex on the previous day. Meanwhile, when a young man roaming near gate number 4/5 was suspected, the RPF stopped him. The red colored bag with him was checked on the scanner machine. Meanwhile, when the young man tried to escape, the RPF ran and caught him. When the bag was searched after bringing the post, the RPF was shocked. A total of Rs 47,50,000 lakh cash was recovered from the bag containing Rs 2000 and Rs 500 notes.

During interrogation, the youth told his name as Amit Mahadani (30) son Purna Chandra Mahadani resident of Burnpur Road under Asansol police station of West Burdman district. The cash was confiscated for not showing valid documents related to the amount during interrogation and not giving satisfactory answers. The youth was also taken into custody. Suspicion was raised about the confiscated money being brought through hawala. For further action, the seized amount and the detained youth were handed over by the RPF to the Income Tax Department officials who arrived from Income Tax Kolkata.
