Jaipur: Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik attacked on sunday Center From above farmersMade a point and said that he is not afraid to step down from his post if asked. He made this remark while addressing the ‘Jat Global Summit’ here.
But referring to his recent statements agricultural law, Malik said he was made Governor By some in Delhi and fully aware that he was speaking against his will on agricultural issues. “The day they tell me that they have a problem (with my statements), I will not wait even a minute to resign. On the very first day, I spoke for the farmers and was ready to go and join agricultural protestMalik said.
Taking up the central government’s silence on the deaths of farmers at the sit-in site, Malik said over 600 people have died in the country’s biggest agrarian agitation, but not a word of condolence from top leaders was unfortunate.
“Even when a puppy dies, the leaders of Delhi offer their condolences. But they are silent on the death of farmers,” Malik said.
Making a shocking claim, he recalled that during his meeting with PM Narendra Modi, he had told him that neither Sikhs nor Jats can be defeated on the farmers’ agitation. He said, ‘I told Modi that if you think farmers will withdraw their dharna without achieving anything, then it will not happen. I also told him not to do two things: don’t use force and don’t send them without giving anything,” Malik said.
“It is unfortunate that no one is speaking about the death of the farmer. Even our category (OBC) people have not moved any motion in Lok Sabha condemning the deaths.
Defending the farmers’ right to protest peacefully, he said that the farmers have not responded and so far they have not even thrown a pebble. Without saying anything, he justified the hoisting of the national flag by the farmers at the Red Fort on 26 January. He said, “Modi has the first right to hoist the national flag after the farmers. Red Fort is a part of collective memory and sentiment. Our folk songs talk about taking possession of the Red Fort. Do our people have the right to hoist the flag at Red Fort? Don’t have the right?
Raising the issue of Kargil, he said that it is the failure of the government that the infiltrators entered the country and the farmers’ sons paid the price for it. Malik said, “Nowhere in history has there been a war in which our children captured the army sitting on the top of the hill and they died like birds.”
