KGF Babu’s wife files nomination papers as independent candidate from the constituency
As the election fever is rising in the state of Karnataka, the IT department is conducting raids across the state. On Wednesday it was reported that the house of expelled Congress leader Yusuf Sharif alias KGF Babu was raided, but no further details were given by the IT officials. It is now learned that the officials have seized demand drafts and silk sarees from her house.
Over 2,000 demand drafts and 5,000 silk sarees have been found at KGF Babu’s residence. It was learned that KGF Babu’s photo was on the packaging of boxes that contained sarees worth lakhs. Demand drafts of Rs 1,105 each were collected in the name of Umrah Foundation and made in the name of voters in Chickpet constituency.
KGF Babu’s wife has filed nomination papers as an independent candidate from the constituency. KGF Babu was an aspirant for Congress ticket from Chickpet, but was expelled from the party after making derogatory remarks about Congress. The party has given ticket to RV Devraj.
KGF Babu’s house has not been raided only. The IT department reportedly conducted raids at 50 different locations in Bengaluru on Wednesday. IT officials have raided the bike showroom of Chamarajanagar BJP District Vice President and charcoal businessman Vrishabendrappa. He raided and inspected the showroom located on Jodi Road in Chamrajnagar.
The officials who came in three vehicles directed Vrishabendrappa to come to the office and inquire about the property. IT officials, acting on a tip-off, said that people have been visiting the showroom in more numbers than usual in the recent past. Vrishabendrappa was also a contender for BJP ticket from Chamarajanagar constituency.
