Currently, TV Plus has 220 channels in the US and approximately 1,600 channels divided across 24 countries.

Samsung will reportedly bring its streaming application, TV Plus, to TVs from other manufacturers.

The tech giant is likely to bring its streaming app to TCL TV, according to tech reporter Janko Roetgers, reports The Verge.

The company introduced TV Plus in 2015, a free, ad-supported streaming service that comes pre-installed on new Samsung TVs.

The service provides users with a way to flip through a collection of channels, similar to a traditional TV service.

In addition, the service offers a wide range of local and nationwide news channels, along with Samsung-produced channels such as Ride or Drive and The Movie Hub.

Currently, TV Plus has 220 channels in the US and approximately 1,600 channels divided across 24 countries.

A source told Roetgers that although the company has looked into the possibility of licensing specific channels to other TV makers, those discussions “do not seem to be going anywhere”.

As a result, the tech giant has shifted gears to provide complete TV Plus applications to other manufacturers.

“Over the past few years, Samsung has been expanding the reach of TV Plus, making the service available on Galaxy devices, the web and even on select Family Hub refrigerator models,” the report said.

The company had said in August last year that viewership on TV Plus has grown by 100 per cent in 2021 with 3 billion hours of streaming worldwide.
