Now, the S-Pen for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a completely different game. It is more competitive for the new IPAD MINI Compared to other phablets. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3S The S-Pen on the folding display works wonderfully. Maybe better than your finger, let alone taking notes, even for normal scrolling and multitasking. The experience is similar to Samsung Galaxy Note or Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. There’s no lag when taking notes, and the fact that you can use custom-sized windows for different apps makes taking notes or drawing as easy as ever. Now, it’s not as good an experience as say an Apple Pencil with the iPad Pro, but that’s exactly what it’s meant to replace – the Galaxy Note.
Now, the experience isn’t quite the same as what we’re used to with Samsung smartphones and tablets, and that’s mainly due to the foldable display – mostly in terms of feel and feedback. Taking notes and drawing things is as simple as any of these products, and the 120Hz refresh rate helps reduce latency and deliver a more pen-like feel, with the flexible display acting like a cushion that resists pressure Is. To apply dark strokes, you have to use a little force, and a weak performance doesn’t really help your confidence. When pressed too deeply, it reminds you not to press the S Pen too hard on the display.
However, once you get over that fear and once you get your hands on the S Pen, it’s a great tool. Taking notes and drawing is a great experience and the accuracy is just as good as any other Samsung product. In fact, the pressure sensitivity I talked about on the foldable screen is great if you want to sketch on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 using the S Pen. The lighter the pen we use, the lighter the shade. I’ve also used last year’s Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 (haven’t tried this year’s Tab S7 yet) with an S Pen as well, and I must say the ease of use and taking notes are smoother and more accurate.
But there are warnings. Some in terms of practicality, and some in terms of usability. For example, with the Galaxy Note, we got the S Pen inside the smartphone. For Galaxy Z Fold 3, you have to buy S Pen separately. The Fold Edition S Pen that we got for this story is priced at Rs 3,990 while the S Pen Pro which comes with more features and can be used with all S Pen supported Samsung products costs Rs 9,999. That’s not all. There’s no room to put the S Pen and you’ll also have to buy an extra case that accommodates the S Pen with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 if you want both things to be in one place. The Samsung Leather Flip Case is priced at Rs 6,899.
In terms of features too, the S Pen Fold Edition for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is limited in comparison to the S Pen on the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Remember the Galaxy Note’s S Pen’s ability to act as a remote control? Smartphone users were able to control their smartphone with the S Pen, through a feature called Air Action. Actions such as swiping your pen to advance a slide in PowerPoint or using the S Pen’s button as the shutter button for the camera. If you want it all with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, then you have to get the S Pen Pro.
Overall, the S Pen works with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Yes, the experience is very new to us and it is still limited with the S Pen Fold Edition, which is all the S Pen allowed us to do on the Samsung Galaxy. Note series. But if Samsung brings all those features here and figures out a way to put both the S Pen and the foldable together, without spending close to Rs 7,000 for a case, the company really doesn’t need the Samsung Galaxy Note series. .
