The attack by Sibal, a senior advocate representing the protesting wrestlers in the Supreme Court, came after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Singh’s demand for his arrest escalated.

Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Saturday said that with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling BJP “silent” on the sexual harassment allegations leveled by wrestlers against outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the “message” is not enough. Is. For those investigating the case.

The attack by Sibal, a senior advocate representing the protesting wrestlers in the Supreme Court, came as voices for the arrest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Singh intensified.

Sibal said in a tweet, “Brijbhushan Singh, with mounting evidence, public outcry, not yet arrested. Prime Minister is silent, Home Minister is silent, BJP is silent, RSS is silent. The message is enough for the investigators!

Sibal, who was a Union minister during the UPA-1 and UPA-2 governments, quit the Congress in May last year and was elected to the Rajya Sabha as an independent member with the support of the Samajwadi Party (SP). He recently launched the non-electoral platform “Insaaf” with the aim of fighting injustice.

The Delhi Police has registered two FIRs against Singh.

The FIR, based on complaints by six women wrestlers and the father of a minor, details several incidents of sexual harassment, inappropriate touching, groping, stalking and intimidation by Singh at different times and places over a period of more than a decade. Alleged cases are described.
