New Delhi: Popular television actress Sneha Jain, who is seen as Jewel in Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2, opened up about her struggling days and even recounted some traumatic incidents from the past.
In an interview with ETimes.com, when she was asked to comment on any casting couch experience she faces in the industry, Sneha Jain revealed, “As far as the casting couch is concerned, Can’t remember exactly what year it was. But I think it was somewhere around my graduation period. Once I got a call from the casting director of the south, he offered me a film that would be a college-goer. It was about the students. He told me that there would be three couples and they all have equally important roles in the movies. I sent him my profile and pictures and the next day I got a call from him that I should go to Hyderabad to meet the director and producer I agreed to travel but I asked him to give me the details. The story of the film is about the banner, producer and director. I told him that I would travel with my mother.”
“Then he told me that there is a condition that I have to settle with him. I was shocked. He told me that the day I reach Hyderabad, I would be given details of the hotel where I would meet the director and after signing the contract. Paper, he will give me half the amount and there I will be signed. He further told me that I have to spend the whole day with the director and do whatever he says and after completing 50 percent of the film, the rest will be paid to me I was shocked and directly told him that this is wrong and I can’t be a part of a project like this. He started telling me it’s not a big deal and everyone does. I told him that I don’t Doesn’t want to be famous and get through it all, if I want a project I want it on my talent. He called me again a week later and told me the deal was still on. I yelled at him and told him to stop calling me because I don’t want to be a part of such a project.”
Talking about working on OTT and if she is keen on taking bold content, Sneha quipped, “No, in terms of acting I don’t mind if I get some bold offer and it’s really cool. I need a show, I’ll do it. My family is cool too, they won’t have a problem. I don’t think I’m doing a love-making scene or something bold, I’m doing something wrong I am an actor and it is my job to stay true to my character. If I am offered a kissing scene, I will do it because at that time I would not have been Sneha, I would have been a character. Actors have no limits or barriers. No actor should make a limit or limits for himself. If tomorrow I am offered a role when I need to be sexy, bold, I will not shy away from doing it. In fact, I once auditioned for a short film where I was offered to play a lesbian. There was a scene in the movie where I had to see a girl Had to kiss, I was doing it. I told him “the girl has to do it” isn’t it, I will do it”. In my mind, I am very clear that I want to do good work and do justice to my roles. If the script demands, I will give my 100 per cent.”
Sneha Jain was first seen in Krishnadasi in 2016. She also acted in a few episodes of Crime Patrol and is now seen in Saath Nibhana Saathiya 2.
