Meanwhile, indiscriminate airstrikes and bombings have resulted in widespread destruction of other cities, especially in Kharkiv in the east.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russian forces are besieging major cities that will go down in history as war crimes committed by Russian soldiers.
