RJD’s Rajya Sabha member Manoj Jha has said that two colleges of Delhi University (DU) canceled his invitations for programs “related to freedom of expression and democracy”, citing “changes” in the nature of the incident.

A few days ago, DU’s Lady Shri Ram College withdrew the invitation of BJP’s national spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan after protests by a section of students. Jha, who is also a professor at DU, tweeted about the two colleges withdrawing their invitations without naming them.

“Sharing something that made me feel uneasy about the ‘state of the state’ at my university. I was invited to speak by two colleges. However, a day earlier I was ‘informed’ about the events’ ‘Prakriti’ has changed and hence the invitation has been withdrawn. No regrets..just worried…” he said in a tweet on Thursday. Both the events were scheduled to begin on Friday, Jha told when contacted.
