Bollywood lovebirds Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are tying the knot today in the presence of their close friends and family members. Earlier in the day, Neetu Kapoor found an emotional way to include late actor Rishi Kapoor in her son’s wedding festivities with a glimpse of his mehendi written with his name on it. News18.com spoke to Sharmaji Namkeen co-star Satish Kaushik, who said that Rishi Kapoor’s presence will be felt during the wedding.
Praising the groom, Kaushik expressed, “It would have been a great day for him (Rishi Kapoor). I remember Ranbir when he was young and assisting in Aa Ab Laut Chalen. He was the E. of Rishi ji. And to see him grow up and make a big mark as an actor and carry on the legacy of the Kapoor family and settle down in his life, makes you feel very happy. The boy is settling down, that too with a great actor like Alia Bhatt who is the daughter of a great director Mahesh Bhatt. They are going to be a great pair of two intelligent minds, two happy minds, young minds, so I wish them all the best.”
Remembering the veteran actor, the Mr India actor said, “And Rishi ji, of course, would have been very, very happy. His presence will be there when they are getting married. He was a carefree person, he could talk to young people of the same level. More than a father, he was Ranbir Kapoor’s friend.”
Kaushik was a part of Rishi Kapoor’s directorial debut Aa Ab Laut Chalen and shared the screen with him in films like Saagar and his posthumous release Sharmaji Namkeen. Kapoor unfortunately passed away before completing the shooting of the film and actor Paresh Rawal stepped in to replace him.
The actor shared that he can see Kapoor through Rawal. “I also got to see Rishi Kapoor in Paresh Rawal all the time because you cannot erase your memories because you know him so closely. When he was fine I shot with him but later I had to shoot with Rawal but the thing is audience has got used to two characters playing the same role, don’t mind you and in Paresh’s shoes Look at Rishi Kapoor. ,” he concluded.
